From Dublin to Murmansk: 8 Cities, One Playrix Wave
2-minute read
Client
Playrix — a global leader in mobile game development. Founded in Vologda in 2004, the company is now headquartered in Dublin and unites 4,000+ employees worldwide. Its flagship titles — Gardenscapes, Homescapes, Township, and Fishdom — are known across the globe. Playrix is distinguished by its distributed international team and strong remote-first culture.
Challenge
After the pandemic and a long period of remote work, our goal was to bring colleagues from different cities together through a light-hearted, emotional event.
We needed to show that, despite the distance, the team remains on the same wavelength. The key challenge: to ensure one concept and one shared atmosphere for parallel events across 8 cities — Dublin (Ireland), Kharkiv, Kyiv, Minsk, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Voronezh, and Murmansk.
Solution
We developed and executed the concept of a summer picnic “On the Same Wave with Colleagues.”
The idea united all locations under a shared theme that was reflected in every detail — from décor to activities - to create a sense of connection within an international team.
Execution
Unified Concept
Step 1
We formulated the central idea — "On the Same Wave with Colleagues" — and created a consistent visual identity for all eight cities.
A detailed guideline package was developed to ensure the same atmosphere across all venues.
Venue Preparation
Step 2
We organised and equipped picnic sites in eight cities simultaneously.
Each space was decorated according to the shared concept — bright, summery, and filled with a sense of unity.
Interactive Activities
Step 3
We designed a collaborative photo zone that participants could decorate by hand, and hosted handpan (glucophone) workshops, where employees created a shared melody together.
To encourage informal interaction, we also set up barbecue areas and game zones.
8 Events in Parallel
Step 4
On the same day, picnics began simultaneously in all eight cities.
Even the most distant location Dublin synchronised perfectly with the others. Colleagues shared photos and impressions in real time, creating the feeling of one big global celebration.
«We deliberately moved away from complex teambuilding formats in favour of simple, heartfelt activities. The ‘On the Same Wave’ concept was born from one insight: after years of remote work, people missed real connection more than anything. When we saw teams across different cities simultaneously drawing, playing music, and sharing photos in real time - we knew we got it right. The most moving part was seeing Dublin and Murmansk - worlds apart - share the same emotion».
